Wellcome

On this site you will meet La Conjura, a folk band from Osuna (Seville) whose components play music in a different way, the Andalusian way. Folk music makes everybody feel closer to their roots and travel to wet green landscapes, and go to endless dances under the stars light.

The band La Conjura goes back to the year 2000. In those early days some graduate students at The Osuna Music Conservatory began to play celtic songs, a kind of music very popular at that time, across the metropolitan area of Seville. Also they recorded the Mixtape "El Sur también existe" and the EP "El Lago de los Sueños", the last one produced on Alta Frecuencia Studios in Seville.
It was during 2007 when the group went one step beyond, opening minds to music from all parts of the world, by making a special fusion with Andalusian folk music, and since ever they took part in many prestigious festivals such as Jornadas Medievales of Cortegana, Fatetar Folk Festival, Festival Magosta in Castañeda (Cantabria), Circuito Provincial Diputación in Seville, Celtic Night in Mijas, Festival El Carmucu in Helguera de Iguña, Trebu Festival, Mercados Medievales in Encinasola, Sevilla, Mairena del Alcor, being also selected for Proyecto Runas 2007 (Festival de Ortigueira).
In the following years they were proud of winning the second prizes at: Concurso Escenario Prau in Cantabria (2009), I Certamen Folk del Festival de Plasencia (2009), Concurso Batalla de Bandas Sala Palo Palo (2009).

They are so obsessed by getting the second prize at any competition they do, that always make quite sure of rivaling a band better than them, because in case of winning a first prize, maybe they would not know how to do.

However, ought to the fact that there were not possible second prizes, La Conjura was given the "28th February Prize" by the local government of Osuna, rewarding them for its course (2010).
Nowadays they are working on recording their first real album, "Estación Folk", and making a video, "Embrujada", directed by the well-known artist Jesús Cansino, that confirms a succesfull future for this band.
